Nate Reinking has left the door ajar to continuing in the BBL next season, even after calling time on his international career.

The 38-year-old guard signed off after a record 81 appearances for GB in Mondayâ€

s victory over China, joining Robert Archibald on the list of those taking their leave from the team.

It was a fitting finale for Reinking, who made his debut against Slovakia in 2006 at the very outset of the sideâ€

s journey towards London 2012.

But it may not be the very last stop in his playing career if he gets a tempting offer from Sheffield Sharks, or elsewhere.

“Never say never,†the Ohio-born veteran said. “I have no idea. You can tell them that. This made me hungry. Playing at this level makes you hungry. I donâ€

t know what it is.

“I thought I would end but itâ€

s actually making me hungry. As of now, Iâ€

m just going to soak the experience in. Then Iâ€

ll take a break and look at every opportunity.â€

There is a sense of relief, as much as euphoria, at Britainâ€

s first Olympic victory since 1948. Beating the Asian champions, Reinking hopes, will convince the public that this is a team that deserves their ongoing support.

“Hopefully they learnt it this week,†he said. “In the past couple of years at the Euros, weâ€

ve been right there with some of them. I hope they saw the fight. Weâ€

re right there with them. It was good to get that win there at the end.â€
