Basketball Englandâ€

s board are expected to face robust questioning at their Annual General Meeting after it was revealed the governing body spent over a quarter-million pounds on its website last year.

The expenditure is revealed in the governing bodyâ€

s newly-published accounts, covering the year up to 31 March 2017.

BEâ€

s website, notable for its infrequent updates and technical glitches, is one stand-out item on a list that has seen administrative expenses rise from £920,878 to over £1.7 million inside 12 months – but with turnover almost doubling to £3.6m following an additional £1.6m secured in funding grants.

However, that comes amid delays in implementing a highly-touted Basketball Development Model which are also likely to be put under the spotlight at the AGM, which will be held in Manchester on Saturday following a previous postponement.

It is understood BEâ€
